A tactile take on a classic puzzle

TuntoTan is my tactile take on the traditional Tangram puzzle. It consists of seven geometric pieces that can be combined to create an endless variety of shapes. In TuntoTan, your challenge is to use all seven pieces to recreate the shape shown in each puzzle.

But rather than simply adapting a visual puzzle by adding braille, TuntoTan was designed as a genuinely tactile experience. The challenges are embossed, allowing the shapes and their outlines to be explored through touch.
The result is a puzzle game that blind, visually impaired and sighted players can enjoy together — and a tactile challenge even for those who usually rely on their eyes.

40 challenges, from guided to tricky

TuntoTan includes 40 tactile challenges ranging from geometric shapes to animals and human figures.
The challenges are divided into four difficulty levels:

  • Level 1: Every piece is individually outlined, making it easier to understand how the pieces fit together.
  • Level 2: Only some of the pieces are outlined.
  • Level 3: Just one or two pieces are outlined.
  • Level 4: Only the outer edge of the final shape remains.

As the outlines gradually disappear, the puzzle becomes less about matching individual pieces and more about figuring out the shape as a whole.

TuntoTan includes tactile challenges printed with raised lines, along with solutions on tactile paper. The game materials are also available in both braille and large print.
